click pic to enlarge - Interesting facts about the Confederate Flag. 1st - its not a Government Flag - Its a Military Flag. 2nd - Its never been associated with slavery. Never flown over a slave ship. Never used to promote slavery. Some hate groups or individuals may have tried to use it in such a manner but it was never done so in an official manner. Those same groups promoting hate also used the American Flag. But nobody is calling for Old Glory to be taken down. 4th - The Red background on the confederate flag represents the Blood of Christians. The Blue cross as well. The 13 stars represent the 13 states that seceded from the Union. The center star representing the state of Maryland. Thats right..Maryland home of D.C. is part of the South. Blacks who fought with the confederacy were treated just like the White soldiers. Ate the same food..had the same weapons. Meanwhile. Grant had to threaten to hang a white regiment in the North for refusing to fight with a Black regiment. The confederate flag flew over the homes of Blacks in the south who were also Slave owners. Both Blacks and Whites fought side by side under the Confederate flag and this should be flown with pride by both blacks and whites. When you allow something like a flag to represent hate then you give it power and people will continue to use it such a manner. The Old Rebel flag represents those who tried to seceded from the Union as was their right...only to be forced into a war by Abraham Lincoln. - Before you try to remove this flag from an honorable place - Do your own research. Dont let people with anti-white or anti-black agendas deprive you or any American a part of our History. When they can force someone to remove a flag...how long will it be before they begin burning the books. Or Movies. Or declaring anyone with opposing views a racist and forcing them to wear a gold star..or rounding them into cattle cars and taking them away to death camps. History has taught us lessons. Lets not allow those lessons to go unheeded. - Str8Shooter
